Sophie Cunningham is continuing to stack up the milestones in 2026.
The Indiana Fever guard Cunningham announced in a recent post to her TikTok page that she has gotten baptized. Cunningham shared a video of the ceremony and noted that, while she had gotten baptized as a child, she felt compelled to undergo the ritual again as an adult.
“I got baptized when I was little but I was feeling a tug on my heart to do it on my terms as an adult!” wrote Cunningham. “Such a fun, amazing day. Thank you Jesus.”
Cunningham also tagged Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria, Ariz. as the location and included a lengthy testimonial on her decision to undergo an adult baptism in the caption of the post. You can see her full TikTok post at the link here.
The 29-year-old Cunningham has been in the WNBA since 2019 but became a fan favorite last season with the Fever after defending superstar teammate Caitlin Clark during a game. Cunningham has also since decided to continue her partnership with Indiana for a little while longer.
It has been an eventful year for Cunningham in other regards as well. Earlier this month, Cunningham made waves after sharing her photos for this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.
