Stephen Curry does not rule out playing in Charlotte

It’s somewhat forgotten that Stephen Curry is due to become a free agent in the summer of 2017, and while staying in Golden State remains by far the likeliest outcome, he’s not going to rule out other things.
One of those options is playing for the Charlotte Hornets, the city where he grew up, and he admitted that at one time, he’d have loved to.
“I don’t know,” Curry said of joining Charlotte in free agency when asked by Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer. “Obviously I had a strong tie to Charlotte and would have loved to play there. I’m very comfortable in that city. It’s hard to say exactly what the situation will be this summer.”
On the whole, Curry hasn’t forgotten about his impending free agency, but it isn’t at the forefront of his thoughts.
“It’s on my radar, but it’s not really on my mind as much day-to-day,” Curry said. “I’m just trying to enjoy what this season is going to bring.”
Of course, 29 NBA teams are watching and waiting for any signs of discontent from Curry. It’s probably not coming. He knows it would be foolish to close the door on anything at this point, but the odds are very strong that Curry will be a Warrior next year.
