Tiger Woods says he was ‘talking to the president’ before arrest
Golf legend Tiger Woods expressed surprise upon his arrest for driving under the influence following a rollover crash last Friday in Jupiter Island, Florida.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. ET when Woods’ Land Rover SUV clipped the rear of a truck and overturned on its side. No injuries were reported. Woods told deputies he had been looking at his phone and adjusting the radio when the collision happened.
Bodycam footage released by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office captured Woods, moments after the crash, ending a phone call and informing a deputy, “I was just talking to the president.” He was heard saying “Thank you so much” during the conversation, though the call itself was not recorded.
It remains unclear whether he referred to President Donald Trump, whose former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, has been romantically linked to Woods.
Woods, 50, failed a field sobriety test, during which he exhibited impairment signs, including hiccuping and difficulty following instructions. He attributed his unsteady gait to seven back surgeries and more than 20 procedures on his right leg and ankle.
Deputies discovered two white pills in his pocket, which he identified as Norco, a painkiller containing hydrocodone. He acknowledged taking prescription medications earlier but denied alcohol consumption. A Breathalyzer test returned negative for alcohol, yet he refused a urine test, resulting in an additional misdemeanor charge under Florida law.
In the patrol car, footage showed Woods appearing to nod off. At the sheriff’s office, he maintained he was not drunk but on prescription medication. He was released on bail after eight hours and later fined $163, with a careless driving citation added.
Woods pleaded not guilty to DUI on Wednesday.
Shortly after, he announced he would step away indefinitely from competitive golf to seek treatment and prioritize his health.
Woods has since received court approval to pursue outpatient care abroad.
LeBron James’ camp is blocking Arizona reporters from talking to Bryce James
LeBron James is apparently trying his best to shield his (younger) son from the press.
Arizona had an “enforcer” present in the locker room on Thursday who was preventing reporters from speaking to freshman guard Bryce James, Dan Wolken of Yahoo! Sports reported. The Wildcats are currently in the Final Four and will face off against fellow No. 1 seed Michigan on Saturday for a chance to play in the national title game.
Wolken later then clarified that it was not Arizona who was actually dictating Bryce’s media availability. Instead, it was LeBron and Klutch Sports who were dictating things with Bryce, Wolken added.
The 18-year-old Bryce is in his first season with the Wildcats after committing to them in Jan. 2025. He has not played in a single game for them however and made the decision this past February to formally redshirt his freshman year.
Meanwhile, Arizona is in the Final Four this year for the first time since 2001. As such, there is a lot of buzz surrounding their team, and having LeBron James’ son on the roster has only increased Arizona’s publicity.
However, LeBron and his agency Klutch Sports clearly do not want reporters to get any soundbites (possibly unrelated to Wildcats basketball) out of Bryce. That said, LeBron has taken the training wheels off a bit with his older son Bronny, 21, who is having some nice moments right now as his teammate on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ozzie Albies pulls a disrespectful move on umpire during game
Ozzie Albies is providing the latest entry in automated ball-strike (ABS) system entertainment.
The Atlanta Braves second baseman Albies went viral during Thursday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks for the disrespectful move that he pulled. In the top of the fifth inning at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., Albies took a 3-2 pitch from Dbacks pitcher Ryne Nelson.
Home plate umpire Malachi Moore called Albies out on strikes. But Albies promptly initiated an ABS challenge … and started walking over to first to take his base (confident that he would be proven right).
Indeed, the pitch was inside and upstairs, missing the strike zone by an estimated 1.1 inches. Take a look at the funny video.

With the leadoff walk, the three-time MLB All-Star Albies triggered quite the fifth inning for the Braves. They would go on to score a whopping eight runs in the fifth and eventually beat the Dbacks by a laugher of a final score of 17-2.
As for Moore, at least it could have been worse. He could have been like his fellow umpire CB Bucknor, who got laughed at by players and managers alike after blowing a call earlier this week.
Luka Doncic suffers concerning injury during Lakers’ awful loss to OKC
When it rains, it pours for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers got their doors blown off by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Thunder pounced right on the Lakers to take a 44-21 lead after the first quarter, and it only got worse from there as OKC ended up beating the Lakers by a humiliating final score of 139-96.
But what mattered more for the Lakers than Thursday’s result was what happened to franchise star Luka Doncic in the third quarter. While dribbling up the floor against Thunder forward Jalen Williams (as the Lakers were already trailing 90-58), Doncic attempted to make a move and came up hobbled, seemingly clutching his hamstring.

Also particularly concerning was that Doncic appeared to be distraught immediately after getting injured.

The Lakers quickly ruled Doncic out for the rest of the game, confirming that it was a left hamstring injury. Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported after the game that Doncic was set to undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of his injury.
Doncic, the six-time All-Star, has been the primary reason for the Lakers’ success this season. He entered play on Thursday averaging an NBA-leading 33.8 points to go along with 7.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game on the year (with the Lakers climbing to No. 3 in the West at 50-27).
But hamstring injuries are notoriously tricky, creating an extra layer of concern for Doncic with just over one week left to go in the regular season. Doncic is known for playing through almost any and every possible injury during the postseason, but a serious hamstring injury would likely be too much for even him to gut it out on.
Grizzlies’ Brandon Clarke gets arrested on drug, fleeing charges
A new Memphis Grizzlies player has gotten himself into trouble this week.
Grizzlies big man Brandon Clarke was arrested and booked in Cross County, Ark., according to a report by The Memphis Commercial Appeal. Jail records from the Cross County Sheriff’s Office showed that Clarke was booked on Apr. 1 on charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal also notes that Clarke was hit with two more charges as well — fleeing in a vehicle exceeding the speed limit and improper passing. You can read their full report on the situation here.
Clarke, 29, is a former first-round pick by the Grizzlies in 2019 who is in his seventh career NBA season. He was an All-Rookie selection in 2020 and averaged five straight years of double-digit points per game to begin his pro basketball career.
But Clarke has been set back by a multitude of injuries in recent years, appearing in just 72 total games over the last three seasons. This season, the 6-foot-8 Clarke made only two appearances for Memphis before effectively being ruled out for the remainder of the season in March due to a persistent calf strain.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are having a very poor 2025-26 season in other regards as well. They have long been eliminated from playoff contention at a rotten 25-51 (12th in the West) and have also had superstar players recently taking public shots at them.
Notable update emerges about Steve Kerr’s future
Steve Kerr might not necessarily be going out sad as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors.
The “most feasible” scenario for the Warriors is that Kerr will return for one last season as their head coach next year as a potential “last dance” of sorts, Tim Kawakami of The San Francisco Standard reported on Thursday. Kawakami notes that nothing appears to be decided yet though and that Kerr is still pondering what exactly he wants to do.
Kerr, 60, is in his 12th season as the head coach of the Warriors. His legacy will be secure if he retires tomorrow as he owns an impressive career record of 603-348 (.634) and has led Golden State to six NBA Finals berths and four NBA championships during his time in charge.
But the Warriors have experienced a much tougher season in 2025-26. With Steph Curry missing extended time due to a nagging knee injury, Golden State is a sub-.500 team at 36-40, which is 10th in the Western Conference and means that they are locked into the play-in tournament.
Meanwhile, Kerr is currently in his final season under contract with the Warriors. That has led to prevalent rumors in recent months that Kerr could be on his way out in Golden State.
That said, Kerr and the Warriors might want one last chance next season to make something out of their rapidly-shrinking window of contention. If that does happen, it could also open up the possibility of Golden State taking one big veteran swing in free agency, such as on this top superstar.
Report: 1 NBA head coach may be in danger of getting fired
One NBA head coach may be paying the price for his team’s underachieving this season.
Figures around the league are monitoring the Orlando Magic as a potential team to watch when it comes to a head coaching change in the offseason, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reported Thursday on “NBA Today.” Jamahl Mosley is currently the head coach of the Magic.
“It’s dominated the conversations I’ve had within the league for the last month-and-a-half,” said Windhorst, per BasketNews. “There’s potentially significant moving at the coaching ranks, and Orlando is the team people are watching.”
Mosley, 47, is in his fifth season as head coach of the Magic after taking over in 2021. Prior to that, Mosley served as an assistant coach in the NBA for roughly a decade-and-a-half.
But Mosley’s overall record in Orlando is only 184-220 (.455). He has also managed to bring the Magic to the postseason just twice and has zero playoff series wins to show for it.
This season, Orlando was supposed to be a win-now team as well in a seemingly wide-open Eastern Conference, especially after giving up four unprotected first-round picks in a summer trade for Desmond Bane. Instead though, the Magic are currently in the play-in tournament at ninth in the conference (40-36).
It has not helped either that Orlando has been bitten by the injury bug (with 20-point-per-game scorer Franz Wagner notably appearing in just 29 games this season due to an ankle issue). But we previously heard that Mosley wasn’t seeing eye-to-eye with Magic star Paolo Banchero too, so it may not be surprising to see Orlando go in a different direction at head coach come the offseason.
Tommy Lloyd has cryptic response to North Carolina rumors
Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd continues to try to distance himself from the North Carolina rumors, but he is not being very convincing.
Lloyd was asked once again about speculation linking him to the Tar Heels head coach job on Thursday, two days before his team takes on Michigan in the national semi-final at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, In. Lloyd tried to deflect the question by saying that his total focus was on Arizona.
“I’ve got my full focus on this team. Nothing is distracting me,” Lloyd said. “That’s just how I’ve decided to approach it. I thought we had a really good practice today. I’m excited to plan for practice tomorrow.
“I’m a simple guy. I’m kind of just one thing at a time. I’m not a multi-tasker. You can ask my wife. I’m 100 percent locked in on Arizona basketball right now, and I’m excited to see what this team can do. I have a real strong belief in this team, and this team deserves my full attention, so that’s what I’m giving them.”

That certainly is not a clear “no,” as many were quick to note. Lloyd could at least quiet the speculation by making a clear statement that he has no interest in leaving for North Carolina, but he tellingly has not said anything like that.
If anything, Lloyd has provided additional fodder for those who think he will leave. Mentioning his hypothetical successor at Arizona immediately after reaching the Final Four is not going to provide much reassurance to the Wildcats.
Lloyd is believed to be one of three main targets in the North Carolina search, which is at least partially on hold due to the Final Four. He is 148-35 since taking over Arizona in 2021, and he keeps giving the Tar Heels tacit encouragement that he might be willing to listen to their pitch.
Former All-Pro cornerback announces his retirement
One of the top cornerbacks of his generation has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Stephon Gilmore posted a retirement video to his social media accounts on Thursday, calling it quits after 13 NFL seasons. The video includes highlights of Gilmore’s NFL career starting from the 2012 NFL Draft.
“I have had an incredible 13 years in the League, and I cannot wait to see what this next chapter holds,” Gilmore wrote in his caption.
Gilmore retires as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks of his generation. His peak seasons came with the New England Patriots, where he was one of the bedrocks of their defense between 2017 and 2020. He was an All-Pro selection twice and won AP Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2019.
He was never quite the same after the Patriots released him, partly due to injury issues. He did earn another Pro Bowl selection in 2021 with the Carolina Panthers, however.
Gilmore’s retirement is not a huge surprise, as he had been very picky about playing opportunities over the last few years. His last NFL action came in 2024, when he played 15 games with the Minnesota Vikings.
Trevor Bauer launches another MLB comeback attempt
Trevor Bauer is launching another comeback attempt, this time in the United States.
Bauer announced that he has signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent league. The team confirmed that Bauer will start for the team on opening night, which is set for April 21.
This is the first United States-based team Bauer will have suited up for since 2021. Since then, he has pitched in both Japan and Mexico. He spent the 2025 season with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, where he went 4-10 with a 4.41 ERA in 133.2 innings.
Bauer has not played at the MLB level since he was suspended 324 games for violating the league’s domestic violence and sexual assault policy. That suspension was later reduced to 194 games, though no MLB team was willing to sign him after he had served the ban. Bauer faced multiple sexual assault accusations, but denied wrongdoing and was not criminally charged despite an investigation.
Bauer, 35, has made it clear in the past that he would make significant sacrifices to play at the MLB level again. That chance is still unlikely no matter how he does in independent ball.
LeBron James makes savage remarks about the Memphis Grizzlies
LeBron James seems to have a fairly low opinion of one particular NBA franchise.
James recently appeared on the “Bob Does Sports” YouTube channel and candidly went on an epic NSFW rant about the Memphis Grizzlies. He suggested they should move the team to Nashville, and even joked about pulling an Eli Manning had they won the NBA Draft lottery in 2003.
“I’m not the first guy to talk about in the NBA. We’re all like, you guys have to move. Go over to Nashville,” James said.
After a crack that James wouldn’t be joining the Grizzlies anytime soon, he opted to twist the knife.
“Yeah, they know,” James said. “Their only chance was in 2003 if they’d have won the lottery, and I might have pulled an Eli Manning and not showed up.”

James apparently is not a big fan of the city of Memphis and seems to suggest there just isn’t much to do there. As he alluded to, he is not the only one. Anthony Edwards is not a fan, and Draymond Green more or less echoed James’ advice to just move to Nashville.
There has been a great deal of speculation about where James might land in free agency next year if he continues playing. We can safely cross Memphis off the list, not that they were ever on it to begin with.
Jaden Ivey’s wife denies cutting off contact with him
The wife of former Chicago Bulls guard Jaden Ivey denied Ivey’s claims that she was ignoring his texts.
Ivey claimed during one of his recent Instagram Live videos that his wife was not texting him back after the Chicago Bulls waived the guard for conduct detrimental to the team. One day later, Caitlyn Ivey responded on social media disputing that.
“We were communicating all morning of that day,” Caitlyn Ivey wrote on Instagram. “People say things for attention, do not be deceived.”

In a separate post, Caitlyn wrote that she had received threatening messages accusing her of abandoning her husband.

Ivey has garnered a great deal of attention recently for his concerning behavior on Instagram. The Bulls ultimately released him after he referred to the NBA’s Pride Night initiative was a celebration of “unrighteousness,” and other reports about his unusual behavior have since surfaced.
Ivey and his wife met while attending Purdue together. The couple shares three children.
Everyone said the same thing about Kirk Cousins’ contract with Raiders
Kirk Cousins agreed to a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday, setting him up as a mentor and bridge starter for likely No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza. The contract itself, however, made the biggest waves on social media.
Officially, Cousins signed a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders. Because of how the contract is structured, however, it will essentially function as a 1-year, $20 million deal.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that all $20 million of that will be guaranteed, meaning Cousins will have a fully-guaranteed contract for the 11th consecutive season.
That prompted one widespread reaction: Cousins and agent Mike McCartney are legendary at getting the most money out of teams.

Wizards criticized for their cringeworthy April Fools joke
The Washington Wizards drew criticism on Wednesday for an April Fools Day joke that many found to be cruel and unfunny.
The Wizards pranked an apparent fan during Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers by making him think he had won $10,000 by making a half-court shot while blindfolded. The prank came when he watched his attempt back and was made aware he had not actually made the shot.

The prank was widely panned online, with many feeling that misleading the fan crossed from funny into needlessly cruel. The Wizards acknowledged that criticism on Thursday by admitting that the entire thing was scripted, but that the skit had still “missed the mark.”

One can see how this would have been a funny idea in the planning stage, but if anything, the skit was too convincing. A lot of fans were convinced that the team had genuinely duped a fan and then publicly pulled the rug out from under him, and they did not like it.
The Wizards are already seen as a bit of a joke and sit at 17-59 after last night’s loss. They didn’t exactly need to do anything to make themselves look even worse.
Body cam footage from Tiger Woods’ arrest has been released
Body cam footage has emerged showing Tiger Woods in the moments after his March 27 car crash.
In the footage, Woods is seen kneeling in the grass near his overturned Range Rover. He assures police that he is fine and also gives his own version of events.
“I looked down at my phone … and all of a sudden — boom,” Woods can be heard saying.
The video also shows a brief interaction with the driver of the trailer Woods collided with. He said he tried to get out of the way, but there was nothing he could do before Woods crashed into the back of the trailer.
Woods is not arrested in the video, and it is hard to get a read on the state he was in at the time. Police documents said Woods was lethargic, slow, and swearing profusely, and that he demonstrated “several signs of impairment.”
Woods was ultimately arrested on three charges, including DUI and refusal to submit. He has announced that he is putting his golf career on hold to seek treatment for his substance abuse issues, and plans to travel abroad in order to check himself into rehab.
Video: Artemis II’s launch interrupts a Stetson-Florida softball game
A softball game between the Florida Gators and the Stetson Hatters at Patricia Wilson Field in DeLand, Fla., was interrupted by something bigger than the game itself.
Players, coaches, fans and everyone in the park all stopped whatever they were doing in the middle of the game to witness Artemis II soaring on its way to outer space.
Eyes and phones all shifted toward the incredible journey of the first crewed moon mission since 1972, as it ripped through the sky. A spaceship hurtling into the cosmos surely was a much more compelling event than a softball game.

It is not every day that an opportunity to see such a spectacle arises, so everyone’s instinct upon seeing Artemis II was perfectly understandable.
As for the astronauts on the mission, they likely had no idea their flight caused a delay in the matchup between the Gators and the Hatters, but if they’re interested to know who won once they return home safely, it’s Florida, which scored an 8-2 victory.
Like Artemis II’s flight, the Gators’ win featured something historic, with Jocelyn Erickson becoming just the sixth player in the history of the program to amass at least 200 RBIs after driving in two runs for Florida.
Warriors player tried an unusual shooting technique during a game
The Golden State Warriors are not in great shape, and they’re so banged up that one of their players was forced to play against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday despite a hurting wrist.
The result was an odd moment when he had to shoot with his off hand during a trip to the free throw line.
Malevy Leons, a two-way player, was called upon to play against the Spurs at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., as part of a very short Warriors rotation. Golden State had only nine players dressed for the game, and Leons, who had not played more than 20 minutes in a game before Wednesday, ended up logging 29 minutes against San Antonio.
In the first quarter, the right-handed Leons shot with his left hand from the foul line. He missed, but there was only so much he could do with his offhand.

It wasn’t a 2026 recreation of Larry Bird’s legendary “lefty game” by any means, but Leons did enough to earn praise from Warriors head coach Steve Kerr following Golden State’s 127–113 loss to the Spurs.
“I’m sure fans don’t know this, but Malevy is right-handed and his wrist is really messed up, so that’s why he shot those free throws left-handed. He’s out there basically playing with one hand,” Kerr said, via Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area. “And he’s flying around and he’s making energy plays. … I’m just really proud of the guys for the effort, the energy, the way they hung in, and hopefully that effort carries over into tomorrow.”
Leons finished with 5 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Fans could see him shoot lefty again Thursday, when the Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Kevin Gausman had a message for Blue Jays reliever after his wasted gem
The rough start to his 2026 season continues for Toronto Blue Jays reliever Brendon Little.
Little was tagged with a loss on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, as he allowed the game-winning run in the 10th inning after an RBI single from Colorado pinch hitter Tyler Freeman.
Little’s bad outing in the 2-1 Toronto defeat wasted a fantastic performance by starter Kevin Gausman, who took a perfect game into the fourth frame and exited the contest after giving up zero runs on 2 hits with no walks issued and 10 strikeouts through six innings.
Gausman spoke about Little’s struggles to begin the season after the game.
“It’s tough to see with [Little] because a lot of the damage he’s given up has been groundballs, and that’s his game. And he’s been so good for us in the past,” Gausman told reporters, via Lindsay Dunn of Off The Roster.
“It’s always tough to see a guy who you know deep down is going to be okay, but has the first couple of rough ones. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to keep kind of relying on guys and we’re going to have to kind of figure it out. But we have all the confidence in the world in [Little] and his stuff and how it plays. “
That was measured take from Gausman, but there is no hiding the atrocious season Little is having. He has allowed 7 earned runs on 7 hits with 3 walks across only 2.1 innings and three appearances in 2026.
Little can still turn things around, and his .750 BABIP suggests it will get better, though his leash may have gotten a lot shorter after three disastrous outings in a row.
Cooper Flagg gets candid about the Mavericks’ brutal season
Cooper Flagg regularly won games in high school and in college, but he’s not having the same experience since he turned pro.
With the Dallas Mavericks, wins have come few and far between in the 2025-26 NBA season despite Flagg’s best efforts. The Mavs simply are far from becoming a legitimate playoff contender, with the former Duke Blue Devils star left to ride the rough waves in his first season in the Association.
“Obviously, it’s been tough. Like you said, you know, through high school, college, I mean, I only lost four games last year. So there have been times of the season where it’s been, you know, really mentally taxing on me,” Flagg said in a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Flagg continued to candidly talk about his disappointment over how the season has gone for the Mavericks, but he knows that it’s all part of his learning curve as a pro.
“Just not having success that I would’ve hoped for, and obviously, we’ve had a lot of injuries and a lot of unfortunate things happen throughout the year. It’s obviously not been ideal. I’ve had growth along the way, and I’ve had to get better and learn on the fly, but definitely not the start I would’ve looked for. Hopefully, eventually I’ll be able to look back on it and know that I was able to learn a lot from it.”
Flagg arrived in Dallas as the No. 1 overall pick at the 2025 NBA Draft, just months after the Mavericks pulled off the shocking Luka Doncic trade.
Anthony Davis, the centerpiece of the trade package from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Doncic, struggled to stay healthy with Dallas, which later sent him to the Washington Wizards. Meanwhile, the Mavericks are missing Kyrie Irving for an entire season because of an injury, while constantly dealing with a revolving door of hurt bodies all season long.
But everything is still in front of Flagg, who is living up to the immense hype he carried with him going into the NBA.
So far this season, he is averaging 20.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
Someone on the Knicks appeared to troll Jaden Ivey during a Karl-Anthony Towns interview
You just don’t know what the mics can pick up when interviewing in an NBA locker room, especially if it involves the New York Knicks, who have lots of colorful personalities.
On Wednesday, something that may or may not have been a shade toward former NBA draft top-five pick Jaden Ivey was caught on audio while big man Karl-Anthony Towns was being interviewed following a 130-119 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.
“Nah you not righteous,” someone in the background was heard saying, with Towns seemingly trying to fight off the urge to laugh.

It could really be about something else, but it’s also easy to connect it to the current controversy involving Ivey, who was cut by the Chicago Bulls because of “conduct detrimental to the team.”
Ivey was let go by the Bulls after he made some anti-LGBTQ comments and called the NBA’s promotion of Pride Month an act of “unrighteousness.”
As for the Knicks game, Towns posted a triple-double of 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, while OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges stepped up as well, scoring 25 and 24 points, respectively. He can also be given additional props for managing to hold it together during the interview.
