West Virginia’s season is off to a rough start, and the Internet isn’t showing them any mercy either.
The No. 13-ranked Mountaineers were upset at home Friday in their opening game of the season, losing to Buffalo in overtime by the final of 99-94. An image of West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins looking unenthused in the closing stages of the loss quickly got the meme treatment on Twitter.

Expectations are high for West Virginia after a 2017-18 campaign where they went 26-11 and made the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. However, Friday’s showing where they committed 19 turnovers and allowed 54 points in the second half alone to an unranked mid-major obviously won’t cut it.
As for Huggins, who often produces memeable content, his 12th season at the helm of the Mountaineers can only go up from here.
