Angry Hawaii football coach has benches removed at halftime of blowout loss (Video)
As a football coach, sometimes your team is simply outclassed in every way and there’s very little you can do about it. Nobody told that to Hawaii coach Nick Rolovich, though.
With his team down 35-3 at home to Boise State at halftime, Rolovich had the sideline benches removed, leaving a few players to sit in pithy little folding chairs when not on the field, while everyone else was made to stand.
.@HawaiiFootball's head coach Nick Rolovich was so upset with his team, he took away the benches from the sidelines. https://t.co/e0uH6NsP5z

This seems harsh, but hey, coach’s prerogative. Hawaii has been bad for a while even predating the first year coach’s arrival, so maybe this is his way of saying that this nonsense will no longer be tolerated, even if it is against a Top 25 team with more talent.
Oh, by the way, it didn’t work. Boise State ran out 52-16 winners.
