Justin Fields dealing with sprained MCL
Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is playing through a knee injury for the Buckeyes.
Fields went down with a knee injury during the third quarter of Ohio State’s win over Michigan on Saturday but quickly returned to throw a touchdown pass on the same possession.
The Buckeyes quarterback said after the 56-27 win that he sprained his MCL at the end of his team’s win over Penn State last week and aggravated it against Michigan.
Justin Fields said he sprained his MCL on the final play against Penn State, then it was aggravated this afternoon. He wore a bigger knee brace as a result.

When Fields got hurt against Penn State, we thought it was an ankle injury. It turned out to be an MCL issue.
His knee issue did not prevent him from playing well against the Wolverines, as he threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns. He will have to be playing well again next weekend for the Big Ten Championship Game against Wisconsin.
