Malachi Dupre is one of the top-ranked wide receivers in the 2014 recruiting class, and he’s set to announce Wednesday where he’ll be playing his college ball.
Dupre, who is from River Ridge, Louisiana, is deciding between LSU, Alabama, Florida State, UCLA and Ole Miss. Though he comes across as a good kid, he is definitely loving the attention from national signing day and has been toying with his Twitter followers about where he’ll attend. He also confirmed the story about Cam Cameron being on his flight to Los Angeles last week.
How much is he liking the attention? He tweeted a picture of himself watching himself on TV:

He retweeted this optimistic tweet from a Florida State fan site to heighten the suspense:
5-star WR @MalachiDupre tweeted "No hurt feelings strictly buisness" … could that be preparing LSU people for him to pick the #Noles? …

He also retweeted this from an LSU fan:

Guess he loves giving all the competing fan bases some hope.
In an interview with 104.5 in Baton Rouge Monday, Dupre said he didn’t think he could make a bad choice regarding his future. He said he wanted to choose a school that had success football-wise and where he could be happy. He believes all five schools he’s considering can provide him that. He spoke positively about all the coaching staffs he’s dealt with and even viewed Alabama’s addition of Lane Kiffin as a positive one.
But as mentioned before, Dupre also confirmed the wild story that LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was on the same flight with him to Los Angeles last week. Dupre said LSU had their home visit with him that day, which made it legal for Cameron to continue interacting with him. LSU had it prearranged for Cameron’s seat to be next to Dupre’s on the flight out to LA, where Dupre took his official visit to UCLA. Cameron was supposedly going to LA for a home visit with Adoree Jackson, another top uncomitted recruit.
“It was planned out. I didn’t know,” Dupre told “Off the Bench.” “They had their in-home visit with me that day and before they left they told me Coach Cam was going to be on the flight with me to LA and that it was completely legal. Sure enough, we got to the airport … I was about to go through security, and he was right behind me. He walked behind me. He sat next to me. It was prearranged that his seat was next to mine on the plane.”
Recruiting, man, it’s a crazy world. I guess it’s not going overboard if LSU lands him, right?
