Fans are unlikely to see Marvin Harrison Jr. play in an Ohio State uniform ever again.
Harrison’s status for Ohio State’s Cotton Bowl Classic game against Missouri on Friday was not publicly known until hours before the game. It was finally revealed that Harrison would not be playing in the game.
The Buckeyes star receiver came out of the tunnel at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas as his teammates were warming up for the game. Harrison was wearing his Buckeyes jersey but he was not in pads.

The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Harrison Jr. entered college with plenty of hype. He exceeded it.
In three seasons with the Buckeyes, Harrison has had 155 catches for 2,613 yards and 31 receiving touchdowns. He had 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns in 12 games this season.
By comparison, Harrison’s father had 135 catches for 2,728 yards and 20 receiving touchdowns over four years (three full seasons) at Syracuse in the early ’90s.
Considering he played when the game wasn’t quite as wide open as it is now, the elder Harrison’s college stats stand up really well to his son’s numbers.
The elder Harrison went No. 19 overall to the Colts in the 1996 NFL Draft. The younger Harrison is expected to be drafted even higher in 2024.
