Mike Alstott’s son gets scholarship offer from Purdue
Like father, like son? Purdue is hoping that will be the case when it comes to one of its most famous football alumni.
Griffin Alstott, the son of the school’s all-time leading rusher Mike Alstott, revealed on Twitter Wednesday that he has received a scholarship offer from Purdue:

Griffin is a quarterback at Northside Christian School in St. Petersburg, Fla. He’s just 16 years old and part of the recruiting class of 2017, meaning he still has his entire senior season ahead to improve as a player. Last season he threw for 1,725 yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He passed for 15 TDs and just five interceptions as a sophomore.
Griffin is rated as a three-star recruit. He has also received offers from Troy, Coastal Carolina, Akron and Appalachian State.
His dad, Mike, was a three-time team MVP at Purdue. The elder Alstott was a six-time Pro Bowler in the NFL and was inducted into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Ring of Honor. He also is the head coach at Northside Christian.
