The College Football Playoff is expanding this season from 4 teams to 12, meaning teams no longer need to be as perfect as in the past in order to qualify. Several teams this year are already in a good position to make it to the playoff, but there is one team that oddsmakers feel is best positioned of all to make it — Ohio State.

Sportsbetting.ag shared the odds for various college football teams to make the CFP. Nine schools are better than even money favorites to qualify for the CFP, while another seven teams are 3-1 underdogs or better to make it.

The Buckeyes are a -850 favorite to make the CFP. That means you would have to wager $850 just to win $100 that Ohio State will qualify. This lofty status for Ohio State comes after the Buckeyes began the season 2-0 and won their games over Akron and Western Michigan by a combined score of 108-6.

Here are the odds for teams to make the CFP:

Ohio State -850
Georgia -650
Texas -550
Oregon -400
Alabama -350
Ole Miss -300
Miami -225
Penn State -225
Tennessee -225
Missouri +150
USC +150
Utah +175
Notre Dame +200
Clemson +220
Kansas State +250
LSU +300

Six SEC teams are in the top 12 among favorites, which would result in half the field being from the same conference. The Big Ten has three schools currently in the top 12 among the favorites. It’s no surprise that the projected field for the CFP is looking like it will be mostly SEC and Big Ten schools.

Also, there is one college coach who is not at all surprised to see Ohio State high on the list.
