The UCLA Bruins had a very rough night on Friday, and social media was more than happy to pile on. That even included their former conference.
The Bruins lost 35-10 to New Mexico at home on Friday, dropping them to 0-3 on the season. As was highlighted on social media, UCLA’s difficult Big Ten schedule makes it difficult to see where they might find a victory this year.
In response to one post that highlighted that schedule, the Pac-12’s official X account piled on Friday evening by posting a GIF of a Seinfeld meme sarcastically commenting “that’s a shame.”

UCLA famously left the Pac-12 in 2022 to join the Big Ten, which was the beginning of the end of that conference as we knew it. Somehow, the Pac-12 has rebounded into a functioning league again, and arguably is doing better than the Bruins are at this point.
There were hopes that the Bruins might be better this year after going 5-7 in 2024, thanks in part to the addition of quarterback Nico Iamaleava from Tennessee. That obviously has not worked out so far, and few people believe it will get better anytime soon.
