AJ Brown addresses talk of him being unhappy with Eagles’ coaches
AJ Brown is understandably upset with the way the Philadelphia Eagles have played in recent weeks, but the star wide receiver insists he is not pinning any blame on his coaches.
Brown spoke with reporters on Wednesday and seemed to address the recent rumors that he is unhappy with the Eagles’ coaching staff and playcalling. He first praised head coach Nick Sirianni for being loyal to the players and holding himself accountable.
“There may be things that Nick wanna fix about himself, but one thing I can respect — loyalty is not one of them,” Brown said. “I say that because he takes up for us when it had nothing to do with us. He gets the blame, but that comes with his job. Sometimes Jalen (Hurts) does the same thing.”
Brown then said Philadelphia’s four losses in their last five games are the result of poor execution from the players — not coaching issues.
“The coaches played zero snaps this year. It is not the coaches. It is us,” Brown said. “Like I said, if one person goes the wrong way, the whole play is over with.”

Following Philadelphia’s 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Brown refused to speak with the media. The only thing he said was that there was “nothing to talk about” and that his frustration was “nothing towards y’all.” Some took that to mean Brown was upset with the Eagles’ coaching staff or the game plan against Arizona.
Then, there was a report where an anonymous Eagles player criticized Brown over his body language. All of that probably played a role in Brown’s decision to set the record straight on Wednesday.
Brown had just 4 catches for 53 yards against the Cardinals. He still has an impressive 105 receptions and 1,447 yards on the season, but he had a stretch earlier in the year where he had six consecutive games with 100-plus yards. The Eagles were 8-1 by the end of that stretch. Brown probably feels that was not a coincidence.
