The Chicago Bears informed head coach John Fox on Monday that they are parting ways with him, according to multiple reports.
With first-round pick Mitchell Trubisky entering his second season, the Bears are reportedly searching for an offensive-minded coach who has experience coaching quarterbacks. New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will be near or at the top of Chicago’s preferred list.
#Bears GM Ryan Pace will lead the search for the replacement for John Fox. They’ll look at offensive minds to work with promising QB Mitch Trubisky, while defensive coordinator Vic Fangio could get a look as well.

Fox spent three seasons as the head coach of the Bears, compiling a record of 14-34 and never reaching the postseason. He inherited a 5-11 team and won six games the following season, but that ended up being his best year in Chicago.
Fox, 62, is one of the older coaches in football. He enjoyed success in his stints with the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, but it would not be a surprise if he doesn’t land another head coaching job.
