Awesome 1950s NFL contracts, pay stubs, playbooks make their way onto Reddit

Rams contract

For those who like nostalgia and historic items, this is for you.

Reddit user Absinthe_Mind posted a collection of images featuring contracts, play books, scouting reports and pay stubs of his grandfather, who played football for the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Colts and Chicago Cardinals back in the 1950s. The user’s grandfather is Bill Lange, who was 6-foot-1 and 231 pounds during his playing days. A 30th-round draft pick by the Colts in 1950, Lange played from 1951-1955. His contracts showed he was paid in the range of $5,000-$7,000 per season. He made nearly $300 on many of his game checks.
