The Miami Dolphins are losing one of their better receivers possibly for the season.
Brandon Gibson was carted off the field in the second quarter of the team’s game against the New England Patriots on Sunday. NFL Network’s Albert Breer reports that Gibson’s knee injury likely is season-ending. The belief is he has a torn patella tendon.
Gibson caught the Dolphins’ first touchdown of the game against the Patriots on a rollout by Ryan Tannehill. He caught two touchdowns in a Week 7 loss to the Buffalo Bills and entered the Week 8 game with 29 catches for 322 yards and the two touchdowns. The former 6th-round pick had at least 4 catches for 40 yards in all but one game this season.
