Browns reportedly release Jason McCourty
The Cleveland Browns continued their complete rebuild of their roster on Thursday, and Jason McCourty is not in the team’s future plans.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that the Browns have informed McCourty he will be released.
Browns are releasing CB Jason McCourty, source says. They’re rebooting with their own guys obviously. He should have interest elsewhere.

McCourty has been one of the better cornerbacks in football throughout his nine-year career, the first eight of which he spent with the Tennessee Titans. He recorded three interceptions in 14 games in his only season with the Browns.
After new general manager John Dorsey took over Cleveland’s football operations department, McCourty indicated that he was frustrated with the way the new regime has criticized the lack of talent on the Browns roster. The 30-year-old no longer has to worry about that, and he should have no problem finding a new home in free agency.
