Deon Bush was excited to sign a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday morning, but the veteran safety probably should have waited a day or two before expressing it.
After news surfaced that Bush had joined the Chiefs, the 28-year-old took to Twitter to say “what’s up” to his new fanbase.
What’s up Chiefs Kingdom!!

The tweet was certainly well-intentioned, but there was one problem. The Chiefs completed a blockbuster trade around the same time to send Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. Fans in Kansas City were understandably saddened and angered by the move. Bush quickly realized this and sent a hilarious follow-up tweet.
My bad y’all, I’ll hit y’all back later 🚶🏾♂️🚶🏾♂️

Hill has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL for several years. Chiefs fans are right to be worried about the impact his departure will have.
You have to feel for Bush there. The timing of that was as unlucky as it gets.
