Connor Cook reportedly turns down Senior Bowl invitation
NFL draft quarterback prospect Connor Cook has reportedly turned down his invitation to the Senior Bowl, disappointing some scouts and teams in the process.
NFLDraftScout.com’s Dane Brugler reports the news and says the Michigan State product will not be participating in the event. The Senior Bowl gives players a chance to compete with other top players and practice under the guidance of NFL coaching staffs, so it’s considered a valuable time for teams to evaluate prospects.
Cook, who is Michigan State’s career touchdown passes leader and holds the highest winning percentage for a quarterback, is considered to be one of the better quarterback prospects. Teams would have liked to see more of him in this environment in order to get a better and closer look at him. Seniors like USC’s Cody Kessler, Alabama’s Jake Coker, Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz reportedly will participate in the event.
