Report: Dak Prescott to start through Week 8, possibly beyond
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is not in danger of losing his starting job during the bye week, and the rookie may be able to keep it even longer than that.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Prescott will start in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Tony Romo has yet to return to practice, and it’s possible he won’t be ready by Week 9, either.
#Cowboys are starting QB Dak Prescott post-bye vs #Eagles, source said. No surprise. Tony Romo may not be ready to be considered vs #Browns

#Cowboys, smartly, won't make a firm QB call until it's necessary. If Tony Romo isn't ready by Nov. 6 — and he may not be — Dak rolls on.

The Cowboys really have no choice but to take a wait-and-see approach. With how well the team has played with Prescott under center, the least they can do is wait until Romo is 100 percent healthy before even considering giving him his starting job back. And if the Cowboys are 6-1 or 7-1 by that time, it’s anyone’s guess what they will do.
While he has always been loyal to Romo, the recent comments Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made about the quarterback situation are very telling.
