Hall of Famer Dick Butkus had a strong message for the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of the Super Bowl.
The Bengals are set to face the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Though the Rams are only 15th in the league in points allowed, they have some serious players on defense. The star is Aaron Donald, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year. They also have Von Miller, Leonard Floyd and Greg Gaines, among other pass rushers.
Butkus thinks the Bengals’ offensive line is going to be in for a long day against the Rams’ pass rush.

hope the @Bengals offensive line watches the opening scene from saving private ryan so they know what they are up against

“Saving Private Ryan”, of course, is a World War II movie, and the opening scene depicts the brutal and gruesome D-Day invasion in Normandy, France.
Comparing a football game to a war scene where thousands lost their may not sit well with some, but it’s clear where Butkus stands regarding the game. He thinks the Rams’ defense is going to dominate and slaughter the Bengals.
The Rams are favored in the game, so Butkus isn’t alone in thinking they will do well. But neither Butkus’ thoughts nor the point spread will matter when the ball is snapped to start the game.
