Doug Marrone will reportedly be fired by Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars appear ready to become the first team to make an offseason coaching change after the season ends.

According to Dianna Russini of ESPN, the Jaguars have informed head coach Doug Marrone that he will be fired following the team’s final game of the season Sunday.

While the Jaguars’ problems may not solely be his responsibility, this move can’t come as a surprise. Though he led Jacksonville to the AFC Championship game in 2017, he’s gone 10-21 in two seasons since, and the squad has never looked close to contending again.

This is the second major change the Jaguars are making toward the end of the season, as executive VP Tom Coughlin has already been shown the door. General manager Dave Caldwell’s status has yet to be decided, at least as far as the public knows.
