The Philadelphia Eagles found a new way to use a tush push to beat their opponent on Sunday.
The Eagles defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-25 in Week 4 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. One of Philadelphia’s biggest plays of the game came late in the third quarter when they were leading 24-13 and had 3rd-and-1 deep in Bucs territory.
As expected, the Eagles lined up to run the tush push. But instead of having Jalen Hurts dive forward into a pile of players, Hurts stepped back and handed it off to Saquon Barkley.
The Bucs were completely fooled and Barkley walked into the end zone.

There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about the Eagles getting away with penalties while running the tush push. The play is viewed as virtually impossible to stop in a short-yardage situation, which is why there has been so much controversy surrounding it.
Now, defenses will have to be prepared for the fake tush push in addition to trying to stop Hurts from plunging forward for positive yardage.
