Greg Hardy among former NFL players in Spring League

Greg Hardy

Greg Hardy still has his sights set on an NFL comeback.

A spokesman for the Spring League, an independent developmental league that has received at least some acknowledgement from the NFL, confirmed to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio that Hardy is one of the players taking part in the league’s six-game season.

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw, tight end Kellen Winslow, quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, running back Ben Tate, and quarterback Ricky Stanzi are the other participants with some NFL experience.

The Spring League does not pay its players, but offers them a six-game season as a platform to possibly attract attention from NFL franchises.

Hardy last tried and failed to get into a different independent league. It’s not talent that’s the problem here — it’s conduct. A stint in another independent league probably won’t change many assessments on that.
