Report: Jaguars may sit Leonard Fournette out until Week 10

Leonard Fournette

Leonard Fournette’s season has been marred by a hamstring injury, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are now reportedly considering an extreme move to avoid making the same mistake twice.

According to Florida Football Insiders, the Jaguars are considering sitting Fournette until Week 10.

Fournette suffered a hamstring injury in the team’s opener against the Giants. He missed two games, returned in Week 4 and re-injured his hamstring against the Jets. The Jags may want to avoid him rushing back too quickly this time.

The former first-round pick was quickly ruled out for the Jags’ Week 5 and 6 games. Jacksonville has Houston in Week 7, the Eagles in London for Week 8, and then a bye in Week 9. Holding Fournette out until then would allow him a chance to potentially fully recover from his hamstring injury and be good to go for the second part of the season and playoffs.

Fournette has just 20 carries for 71 yards this season. TJ Yeldon will work as the lead back as long as Fournette misses time.
