Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow admitted to re-aggravating his preseason calf injury late in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and it may put his Week 3 status into question.
In an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said it was fair to question whether Burrow would be able to play next Monday against the Los Angeles Rams given how the injury has progressed.

“He tweaked it yesterday. Obviously, he has not looked right the last two weeks. Obviously it impacted him and was a factor in the opener, and looked like it was again yesterday,” Schefter said. “If he came out of that game and didn’t feel great there, I think it’s fair to wonder, is he going to be ready for a week from Monday night?
“I would have thought that by opening day it would have been better and wouldn’t have been an issue, but clearly he and they just have not looked right through two games of the season.”
Burrow suffered a calf injury early in training camp and did not participate in preseason. He seemed to be fully good to go for Week 1, but he may have been dealing with more lingering issues than he let on. Through two games, his performances have been poor by his standards, completing only 56.9 percent of his passes for 304 yards.
The Bengals do not play until next Monday, so Burrow has a slightly extended week to get healthy, but it is a bit worrisome that he is still dealing with these physical issues.
