New York Giants owner John Mara may be retaining the team’s current braintrust, but he made it quite clear that things need to change within the organization quickly.
Mara had a firm warning for GM Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll on Monday, even after announcing that both would return for the 2025 season. The co-owner told reporters that he was expecting a quick turnaround for the Giants — or else.
“It better not take too long, because I’ve just about run out of patience,” Mara said.

The Giants are coming off a 3-14 season that saw them give up on quarterback Daniel Jones. There is talent there, particularly in the form of wide receiver Malik Nabers, but the team needs a massive overhaul and a new franchise quarterback. Obviously, the pressure is on Schoen and Daboll to identify and develop one quickly.
Mara had a hard time hiding how frustrated he was with the Giants this season. Clearly, he thinks his current leadership is capable of turning things around, but he wants it done quickly.
