Josh McDaniels is expected to be very selective if he once again considers leaving the New England Patriots for head coaching opportunities this offseason, and the offensive coordinator has already turned away interest from at least one team.
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, McDaniels turned down a head coaching interview request from the Cincinnati Bengals.
If you’re wondering when Josh McDaniels’ interview with the #Bengals is happening, it apparently won’t. Source says McDaniels is passing on Cincy’s request.

That was the outcome most people expected after it was reported that the Bengals were interested in McDaniels. The 42-year-old already backed out of the Indianapolis Colts’ head coaching job last offseason when the Patriots sweetened his deal and convinced him to stick around, so it would take the perfect opportunity to convince him to leave in 2019. The Bengals will be introducing a new head coach for the first time in 16 years and are coming off their third straight losing season.
If McDaniels does decide to leave New England, we have heard him linked to some much more appealing jobs than the one the Bengals have to offer.
