Leighton Vander Esch says he is ‘good’ despite neck injury
Leighton Vander Esch left Sunday night’s Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game with a neck injury but says he is “good.”
Vander Esch got hurt in the second quarter of the game while tackling Dallas Goedert. He went into the medical tent and then into the locker room. He was later ruled out for the game.
The Cowboys linebacker told NFL Network’s Jane Slater after the game that he was “good” and said he would have kept playing if it were up to him.
#Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch just told me he’s good. First neck stinger. Disputes “history” of neck issues reports. Told me he would have continued playing but “wasn’t up to me”

The Cowboys will have a bye in Week 8, which will give Vander Esch an extra week to recover before the team’s next game. They will visit the Giants on Monday night in Week 9.
Vander Esch had three tackles in the game prior to exiting.
