New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was frustrated early on in his team’s game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, and it looked like he voiced some of his concerns to head coach Brian Daboll.
Nabers and Daboll were shown jawing at one another on the sideline during the first half of the Giants-Commanders game at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md. It appeared that Daboll said something to Nabers as the star receiver was walking away, and Nabers had an animated response.
Not long after, Daboll was shown having a positive exchange with Nabers in a team huddle, though the former No. 6 overall pick awkwardly — and unintentionally — left his coach hanging.

Nabers is coming off an outstanding rookie season in which he had 109 catches for 1,204 yards and 7 touchdowns. The former LSU star is a competitive player and was openly critical of his Giants teammates at one point during the team’s 3-14 season. Nabers also suggested that Daboll was not doing a good enough job of getting him the ball, and the coach seemed to agree.
Both Daboll and Nabers will likely downplay Sunday’s exchange, but it was another reminder of how the Giants will need to work hard to keep their best offensive player happy.
