Despite being one of the most heralded wide receiver prospects in recent memory coming into the NFL, Marvin Harrison Jr. has yet to live up to the hype. That has not changed this season, with the Arizona Cardinals second-year receiver yet to make a huge impact.
Harrison only has 11 targets through the first two games of the Cardinals’ season, leading to seven catches for 98 yards and a touchdown. That comes on the heels of a rookie season that saw him tally 885 yards, a disappointing tally for a No. 4 overall pick who was expected to be the No. 1 option in his offense.
Despite this, Harrison is not seriously sweating the lack of targets, largely because the Cardinals are off to a 2-0 start.
“That’s a silly conversation. We’re 2-0,” Harrison told reporters when asked about his role in the offense.

Harrison will inevitably draw comparisons with fellow 2024 draftee Malik Nabers, who has already become the alpha option that many expected Harrison would. By that comparison, Harrison is framed as something of a disappointment.
Expectations for Harrison were even higher after the Cardinals hyped him up with an incredible-looking offseason photo. So far, he has delivered more of the same. That’s fine, but the Cardinals and their fans were undoubtedly hoping for more.
