The NFL is expected to release its full schedule for 2020 on May 9, and it will likely look much different than we imagined. One significant change that will reportedly be included is the relocation of any games that were originally supposed to take place overseas.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, one of the reasons Premier League soccer team Tottenham is having financial issues is that their new stadium will not be hosting two NFL games next season. The two games that were scheduled to be held at Wembley Stadium are also expected to be relocated to the United States.
The NFL remains committed to playing a full 16-game season, though some believe the start of it will be postponed. The offseason schedule has already been altered with some teams holding organized team activities virtually, and it remains to be seen if training camp will be impacted.
We have already heard of some radical changes that could be made to the NFL schedule, and it’s no surprise the league is moving games out of Europe. Traveling overseas and making arrangements to play in London probably won’t be doable this upcoming season. The same will likely be true of the game that was scheduled to take place in Mexico.
