The New England Patriots are among the teams that showed interest in Johnny Manziel on Tuesday.
Manziel participated in Texas A&M’s pro day, where all 32 teams were in attendance. The teams were there to see the array of talented players, including touted wide receiver Christian Kirk. They also got to see Manziel throw.
The Boston Herald reports that the Patriots spoke to Manziel both before and after his workout. They were also among the more limited group of teams in attendance when he threw at the University of San Diego’s pro day.
Though the Patriots emphasize players falling in line and following “The Patriot Way,” they have been known to take chances on players other teams stay away from. They even had Tim Tebow in camp at one point. We don’t necessarily view it as likely, but among the teams that could sign Manziel, the Patriots might be up there.
