There is no more clarity on Carson Wentz’s status for Week 1 even though the first week of the season is approaching.
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has been frustrated with all the questions about Wentz’s status lately. The QB is coming off a torn ACL and has said that he is unsure if he will be ready to play in the team’s first game of the season.
Correspondingly, reporter Peter King said he thought a Week 3 return date was the most realistic scenario for Wentz during a Monday appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show.”
"I find it very hard to believe that [Carson Wentz] will play the first week or two. I feel like it's more realistic for him to play Week 3 against Indianapolis. It's almost a friendly. You're not facing a tough defense." – @peter_king on @dpshow

The Eagles open up the season on Thursday, Sept. 6 against Atlanta. Then they’re at Tampa Bay and they face the Colts in Week 3, which is the date King believes is realistic for a return.
Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will likely be the quarterback to lead the team if Wentz is unable to play, though he has not looked good in the preseason.
