The news surrounding Rob Gronkowski seems to be positive for now.
Gronk was concussed on a hit to the head from Barry Church late in the second quarter of Sunday’s NFC championship game. He is currently in the league’s concussion protocol, but he is said to be in good spirits.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday about Gronk’s status and also said there is optimism about him being cleared for the Super Bowl, which is what’s been the word.

Working in Gronk’s favor is the bye week between the conference championship games and Super Bowl. That gives Gronk extra time to recover for the big game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Unfortunately, Gronk enters yet another Super Bowl for New England with questions about his status. He played against the Giants with a sprained ankle; he missed last year’s because of back surgery; and now he’ll be returning from a concussion for this season’s big game. The Patriots will hope to have him healthy for the game.
