Seahawks reportedly believe Chris Carson suffered broken ankle

Chris Carson RB

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson left Sunday’s game with a lower leg injury, and there is reportedly a good chance he could be out for the remainder of the season.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, team doctors believe Carson suffered a broken ankle.

Carson, a rookie who was drafted in the seventh round this year, was trying to run out the clock with Seattle beating the Indianapolis Colts 39-18 midway through the fourth quarter. He needed to be carted off and have his leg placed in an air cast after being stood up by defenders and driven backwards.

The timing could not be worse for Carson and the Seahawks, as the rookie appeared to have seized control of the team’s backfield with Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls both having been healthy scratches for a game this season. C.J. Prosise was inactive on Sunday with an injury, so Seattle is looking very thin at running back heading into Week 5.
