Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott has been running wild on the NFL, and even his own teammates are astounded by the extent of his dominance so far.
After Elliott gouged the Cincinnati Bengals for his third consecutive 130-plus yard game in a 28-14 victory on Sunday, Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams affirmed his belief in The Book of Ezekiel.
“Zeke is a monster, like a real-life monster,” Williams said, per Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News. “Somebody to be that young and to come in here and run the ball like that, it makes me want to block because I know what he’s going to do. He’s going to finish or just like (Sunday), he can pop it.
“So whenever you have a guy like that, that makes blocking fun,” he went on. “You’re not just going out there to block to just catch wind. Now you’re going out there to block because you have a guy who can take over a game.”
Sunday’s big outing for the 21-year-old Elliott gave him a total of 546 rushing yards (tops in the league) and five touchdowns through the first five games of the season, numbers nothing short of mind-boggling for a first-year running back. While some may attribute Elliott’s success to the Cowboys’ renowned offensive line, it’s clear that the Ohio State product is adjusting seamlessly to life in the NFL, and he’ll look to continue his monstrous ways in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers.
