The New England Patriots have lost two of their last three games and are a complete mess on offense, but Tom Brady may feel the best is yet to come for the defending champions.
Brady took to Instagram on Friday morning to share an interesting line from a song by the late Mac Miller. The line begins with, “Whole team about to figure it out…”
The Patriots desperately need to “figure it out,” but they may not have the personnel to do it. Julian Edelman is the only real weapon Brady has left on offense, which is why defenses have had success keying in on him and daring everyone else to beat them. New England’s defense has played well all season and is good enough to keep them in games, but the offense needs to stop putting them in such difficult situations by failing to move the ball.
A date against the one-win Cincinnati Bengals could be just what the doctor ordered for the Patriots, but putting up a bunch of points this weekend won’t necessarily mean things have finally clicked for their offense.
If nothing else, the optimistic quote from Brady should be well received by his teammates. There has been a lot of talk about how frustrated he has appeared on the sideline in recent weeks, so Brady could be trying to take a more positive leadership approach down the stretch.
