Twitter reacts to Mitchell Trubisky’s insane first half against Bucs

The Chicago Bears have been criticized this season for not opening up their playbook and giving Mitchell Trubisky a chance to shine, but that clearly was not an issue during Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Coming into Week 4, Trubisky had thrown just two touchdown passes in three games. In fact, he had just 10 touchdown throws in 15 career games. What’s a good way to get those numbers up? Throwing five TDs in the first half alone is a good place to start.

Trubisky needed less than 30 minutes of football to become the first quarterback in Bears history (in the Super Bowl era) to throw five touchdowns in a single game. He also finished the half with 289 (!) yards through the air.

Twitter was in awe of the performance:

Trubisky is the first QB with 5 first half touchdowns since Aaron Rodgers in 2014.
