The Detroit Lions had an outside chance to mount a fourth-quarter comeback against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, but Matthew Stafford may have squandered it with an incredibly ill-advised play.
On a 2nd-and-14 deep in Detroit territory, Stafford pulled the ball down to run with it. He then saw Kerryon Johnson running alongside him, so he decided to pitch it to the running back. The result was a fumble and a touchdown the other way for Minnesota.

The Lions were down 17-6 at the time, and the defensive touchdown gave Minnesota a 24-6 lead. There’s no question Stafford is going to want that one back.
