Zach Ertz blasts voters for not giving Doug Pederson Coach of the Year
Zach Ertz had some words for NFL voters after his Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The Eagles tight end blasted the voters for not naming Doug Pederson NFL Coach of the Year, calling it “embarrassing.”
Just talked to Eagles TE Zach Ertz and he got going — “Doug Pederson should’ve been coach of the year. I don’t know how he got one vote. That’s embarrassing.”

If postseason play factored into the voting, Pederson certainly would have won Coach of the Year. But because it’s based on the regular season, Sean McVay was a very deserving winner for his turnaround of the Rams.
In the end, Pederson has something that McVay and most coaches do not have: a Super Bowl ring. Helping the Eagles to a 13-3 record and keeping them on track even after Carson Wentz’s season-ending injury was an incredible accomplishment. Taking Nick Foles and winning a Super Bowl with him was phenomenal, and he deserves all the accolades for his ballsy calls.
