Fans were saying the same thing Saturday night about the 4 Nations Face-Off game between the US and Canada.
This is the first year that the NHL has held its 4 Nations Face-Off, which is a competition that was announced last year. The competition is taking place during the period when the NHL All-Star break would typically be, and it coincides with NBA All-Star weekend. Unlike the NBA All-Star game, where the players don’t play hard, or the Pro Bowl, which became a flag football game, players are going all-out in the 4 Nations event. There were three fights in the first nine seconds of the US-Canada game on Saturday, which fans were loving.
Fans couldn’t help but compare what they were seeing from the 4 Nations Face-Off compared to the NBA All-Star weekend.
There were some jokes too:
The bottom line is the NHL completely nailed it with this format. Sure, they need to get Russia and maybe the Czech team involved, but they sure figured out how to get their players to care and put on a great show.
If you’re not amped up for the championship of the event, you’re missing out.
