Fans said the same thing about US-Canada 4 Nations game

US against Canada players

Fans were saying the same thing Saturday night about the 4 Nations Face-Off game between the US and Canada.

This is the first year that the NHL has held its 4 Nations Face-Off, which is a competition that was announced last year. The competition is taking place during the period when the NHL All-Star break would typically be, and it coincides with NBA All-Star weekend. Unlike the NBA All-Star game, where the players don’t play hard, or the Pro Bowl, which became a flag football game, players are going all-out in the 4 Nations event. There were three fights in the first nine seconds of the US-Canada game on Saturday, which fans were loving.

Fans couldn’t help but compare what they were seeing from the 4 Nations Face-Off compared to the NBA All-Star weekend.

NBA Player- “I can’t play in the back to back because my knee is a little sore 😖”

NHL Player- “I am willing to die for my country in this exhibition”

The NFL has turned the Pro Bowl into a flag football game

NBA All Stars don't even break a sweat or play defense in their game

NHL players are throwing haymakers 3 seconds into the #4nations game and it looks like the Royal Rumble

This is my entire feed. NHL-NBA juxtaposition quickly becoming the sports story of the weekend.

It’s impossible to ignore with 4 Nations and All-Star happening simultaneously.

They’re different events, not apples to oranges. But just a bad look for the NBA, no way around it. pic.twitter.com/4OvxpNcdzD

NFL Pro-Bowl –
Let’s make it flag football so no one gets hurt.

NBA All-Star Game –
Nobody play defense so that no one gets hurt.

NHL 4 Nations Tournament –
I must murder you.#FourNations 🤯@NHL

There were some jokes too:

The bottom line is the NHL completely nailed it with this format. Sure, they need to get Russia and maybe the Czech team involved, but they sure figured out how to get their players to care and put on a great show.

If you’re not amped up for the championship of the event, you’re missing out.
