The San Jose Sharks hosted the first Stanley Cup Finals game in their franchise history on Saturday and there was a special guest in attendance.
The Penguins winning the first two games of the series, meaning the Sharks were facing a proverbial must-win in Game 3. With their backs up against the wall, San Jose certainly didn’t need any additional motivation to come out fired up. However, having Marshawn Lynch lead the team out doesn’t hurt.
Joel Ward said Marshawn Lynch is leading them out there in the pregame interview on air. Sharks are gonna win now.

Lynch had on a No. 24 Sharks jersey with “Beast Mode” on the back and looked pretty pumped up himself prior to opening the locker room door.

The Sharks have a tradition of having someone with ties to the Bay Area or the franchise open the locker room doors and lead the team onto the ice. Lynch, of course, is from Oakland and went to the University of California-Berkeley. That said, there never needs to be a reason to have Lynch around. The more Marshawn, the better.
