One of ESPN’s longest-running TV programs is officially coming to an end.
Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post reported on Wednesday that ESPN’s “Around the Horn” is set to end in summer of 2025. After a 23-year run at the network, the show is getting cancelled, Glasspiegel adds.
A popular roundtable debate show featuring a who’s who of prominent sports media personalities, “Around the Horn” debuted in 2002. It was originally hosted and moderated by Max Kellerman before current host Tony Reali took over in 2004. When it comes to debate shows, only “Pardon the Interruption” (which debuted in 2001) has been on the ESPN television airwaves for longer.
We heard over the summer that “Around the Horn” was facing an uncertain future. Now the program is formally set to come to an end (with Glasspiegel noting that ESPN and “Around the Horn” executive producer Erik Rydholm will discuss new concepts to fill the show’s usual 5 PM EST time slot).
