Live blog in reverse chronological order with most recent updates at the top. To catch up, start at the bottom and read your way up.

9:27-We go to the judges decision….29-28 by all 3 judges…the winner and advancing to the 2nd round of the Heavyweight World Grand Prix Tourney……The American Gangster, Chael Sonnen!!!

9:18-Round 3-3rd and final round. Jackson is looking for a stand up fight while Sonnen is trying to use his wrestling against him. Both fighters are clinched and on the fence. The crowd once again is booing and jeering and wants action. The ref separates both fighters. Jackson is swinging and going for the knockout. At the 2:00 mark both fighters start to tease each other. Jackson wants Sonnen to fight him and Sonnen does the same. 1:00 left in the round and Sonnen takes Jackson down with a sweep of the leg. Jackson is throwing elbows and punches from the bottom. Sonnen is on top and throwing punches. The ref separates both fighters with less than :10 remaining. The round is over with both fighters hugging it out. It’s going to a decision and I think Sonnen won 3-0.

9:12-Round 2-Both fighters clinch up to start the 2nd round and Sonnen has Jackson against the fence and going with knees and stomps while Jackson is countering with soft punches to the left ribs and head of Sonnen. Sonnen trips and takes down Jackson at the 3:34 mark. Now in the center of the cage and Sonnen is trying to mound and get Jackson with some good punches to the ribs and head. The crowd is booing and wants action as both fighters are still on the floor. Sonnen is going for the right arm of Jackson at the 2:00 mark but Jackson is countering with elbows to Sonnen’s left knee. 1:00 to go in the round and Sonnen gave up on the arm and is back to punching the ribs and the head of Jackson. Sonnen ends the round on top of Jackson. It’s 2-0 in favor of Sonnen in my opinion. He dominated that round.

9:06-Round 1-Just shadow boxing for the 1st minute of the fight and already it seems like Rampage is out of shape. There’s a good 10+ pound advantage by Rampage over Chael. At the 2:50 mark Sonnen goes for the legs and Jackson counters it by picking up Sonnen and body slamming him. Back to the center of the cage now and Sonnen hits Jackson with a left jab. Then he goes for a jumping knee that was blocked off. Sonnen is standing up and going to try to make it a boxing match instead of taking Jackson down. Just like that, Sonnen takes down Jackson and has him back and looking for a choke. Jackson reverses and now they are both at the fence as the 1st round comes to an end. Sonnen is up 1-0 in my opinion.

9:05-Ref gives the fighters one last set of instructions…

9:00-With all of the other Heavyweight World Grand Prix competitors in the ring, Both Quinton Jackson and Chael Sonnen are in the cage as we have country singer Trace Atkins singing the National Anthem!!

8:57———————It’s time for the main event!! Introducing Quinton Jackson(37-12 253.0 pounds) vs Chael Sonnen (29-15-1 222.0 pounds) as both fighters come to the cage. I’m going with Sonnen in this match!

8:45-Rory MacDonald had to be carried out of the cage by his trainers because his leg was so messed up.

Douglas Lima vs. Rory MacDonald
8:40-We go to the judges decision….48-47, 49-45, 49-46 and the NEWWWWWW BELLATOR WELTERWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION…..Rory MacDonald

8:32-Round 5-Before the round started, the Bellator cage side doctor checks on MacDonald and makes him stand on his left leg to see if he is good to continue. He passes the “exam”. Start of the 5th and final round. Right away, MacDonald takes Lima down and is not wasting any time. He has busted Lima’s right eye brow and blood is trickling down. At the 2:44 mark and MacDonald is throwing some haymakers while Lima is trying to stop it. Blood is trickling above and to the right of Lima’s right eye but not in it. MacDonald has been on top for most of the round and he needs to be careful if he wants to win. Blood is all over mat and the fighters face and chest. MacDonald is on top as the round comes to an end. Blood fighters are a bloody mess. They embrace after the fight. I think that MacDonald won because of the last round and his domination.

8:26-Round 4-Lima is attacking and mounds MacDonald right from the start. He’s on top and has MacDonald’s legs locked up while punching from the top. MacDonald’s left leg is swollen and looks to be broken. At the 2:15 mark, the ref gets the fighters back up and immediately they clinched back up and are on the fence. 1:30 and Lima goes for the kick on the left leg of MacDonald and MacDonald counters with a spear and takes down Lima. MacDonald is finally trying to hit down with elbows and hammer fists. The round comes to an end and I will give that round to Lima as well since he was on top for most of the round. It’s 2-2 in my opinion!

8:20-Round 3-MacDonald has a bloody nose to start the round. He hits Lima with 2 quick left jabs and steps back. MacDonald is once again going for the take down and Lima holds onto him as both fighters are on the fence. MacDonald is trying to go for the right leg and Lima throws a few punches, forcing MacDonald to let go of the leg. The crowd is getting antsy and booing both fighters. 3:00 in the round and MacDonald takes down Lima in the middle of the cage and just has his weight on Lima. Lima is punching from the bottom and trying to hold on. The ref once again separates both fighters and brings them up to their feet.Lima with the sweep of the left leg of MacDonald at the :35 mark. Looked more like a slip than a brutal leg sweep. Lima jumps on MacDonald and the round comes to an end. Both fighters look exhausted! I would give Lima that round but he’s still trailing 2-1 in my opinion.

8:13-Round 2-Slow and cautious start by both fighters wit no action early on. At 4:09 Lima goes for the right kick to the ribs, but MacDonald catches the kick and counters with multiple right straights to Lima’s face. Now they are clinched up on the fence and
grappling on their feet. The ref separates both fighters once again. Lima gets 3 good left jabs on MacDonald while his back is towards the fence. MacDonald with an accidental front kick that went south of the border. The ref is giving MacDonald a warning. Back to the action and MacDonald takes Lima to the fence and throws down a nice downward elbow with 1:10 to go in the round. Both fighters are once again clinched and tangled together on the fence. Lima has MacDonald’s arms hooked as the round ends.2-0 in favor of MacDonald in my opinion.

8:06-Round 1-Here we go as the 1st of the 2 co-main event fights. MacDonald is on the attach and the aggressor while Lima is back towards the fence. 3:30 to go in the round and MacDonald goes for the take down but Lima has his hands tied up while he’s resting on the fence. 2:25 MacDonald goes for and gets the hip toss on Lima. Both fighters are in the middle of the cage with MacDonald mounted over Lima but not a lot of action by either fighter. for over 2 minutes of no action, the ref pulls both fighters off the ground. Round 1 goes to MacDonald only because he was on Lima for most of the round.

8:03-Introducing Douglas Lima(29-6 169.0 pounds) vs Rory MacDonald (19-4 169.3 pounds) as both fighters come to the cage. I have Douglas Lima winning this match.

Michael Chandler Jr. vs. Goiti Yamauchi
7:42-2 judges had it 30-26, while the other judge had it 30-25 and in a unanimous decision, the winner is Michael Chandler Jr.

7:30:Round 3-Accidental eye poke by Chandler Jr and the ref has to separate the two. 3:00 to go in the round nd chandler Jr. has Yamauchi on his back and is ground and pounding him. 1:28 Chandler Jr. with the elbows to the chin and face of Yamauchi. Yamauchi is busted under his left eye. When is the ref going to stop it? I guess he isn’t and as the round comes to an end Chandler Jr. just grounds and pounds Yamauchi into a bloody mess. What a great showing by Chandler Jr. 3-0 in favor of Chandler Jr. in my opinion.

7:25-Round 2- Yamauchi starts the round with a left kick to the ribs of Chandler Jr. frollowed by a flying kick/knee to Chandler Jr. Chandler Jr tells Yamauchi to bring it and both fighters settle down. 3:20 to go in the round and Chandler takes down Yamauchi and takes him near the fence. Yamauchi is trying to fight out. Round ends and I have Chandler Jr up 2-0.

7:18-Round 1-Both fighters touch gloves to start off the round. Nice back and forth sparring by both fighters to start off the round. With 3:40 to go in the round, Chandler Jr takes down Yamauchi and has him mounded while he is taking him to the fence. Both fighters are being aggressive but not too aggressive. Chandler Jr is pounding down and had Yamauchi on his back for a good half of the 1st round. 1-0 Chandler Jr took this round.

7:17-Introducing Michael Chandler Jr(16-4 156.0 pounds) vs Goiti Yamauchi (22-3 155.9 pounds) as both fighters come to the cage. I’m going for Yamauchi for the upset in this one!

7:00-The competitors for the heavyweight world grand prix are being shown on the big screen while Chael Sonnen is roasting them.

Aaron Pico vs. Shane Kruchten
6:50-Round 1-This might be a quick fight as Aaron Pico is going for the quick knockout….just like that, he knocked out Shane with a crazy left hook to the ribs and down goes Shane Kruchten!!! Wow, that was a quick one!

6:49-Finally getting some great fan reactions while both fighters are introduced.

6:46 Introducing Aaron Pico(1-1 145.2 pounds vs Shane Kruchten (12-3 146.0 pounds) as both fighters come to the cage.

Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Henry Corrales

6:33-We go the judges….1 judge has it 30-27, while the other 2 judges have it as 29-28 all in favor of Henry Corrales.

6:24-Round 3- Both fighters touch gloves to start the 3rd and final round. At the 4:00 mark, Karakhanyan goes for the knees for a takedown but is defended. Both fighters are back up and in the middle of the cage. Karakhanyan is more aggressive and looking to kick and punch Corrales to get some action going on. Corrales is only countering Karakhanyan for the most part. Karakhanyan goes for the takedown but Corrales has the fence to stop his fall. Karakhanyan is going for the takedown iwth 1:20 to go but Corrales isn't giving up his position. Both fighters are still on the fence as Karakhanyan goes for Corrales's back to end the round. Both fighters start exchanging swings and misses to end the round. This now goes to the judges. It’s Corrales 2-1 in my opinion.

6:19-Round 2-Trading punches early on in round 2. Karakhanyan goes for the take down but Corrales stops him and Karakhanyan goes for it again and has corrales on the fence going for a leg sweep. Corrales reverses it and now Karakhanyan is on the fence. Corrales drops him with 3:20 to go in the 2nd round. No punches are being thrown by either fighter but Corrales does have Karakhanyan in the mound position, trying to lock up his legs. The fans are cheering "Henry Henry Henry" for about 3 seconds and that's it. A lot of wrestling but no action. 1:20 to go and Corrales lets Karakhanyan to get up, just to take him to the fence. Corrales has a cut on his left eye brow. Both fighters go to the middle of the cage with :30 remaining in the round and exchange a few punches. The round comes to an end. I will give this round to Corrales for this round.

6:12-Round 1-Both fighters look to be in pretty good shape as they start the match. Both fighters are throwing punches and kicks. With 1:25 to go and Georgi keeps attacking with his front kicks but he can’t capitalize on Corrales. They are trading punches and kicks in the middle of the cage. Corrales catches Georgi with a left straight and Georgi waves no with his finger and he hits Corrales to end the round. It’s a toss up on who won this round, it can go either way.

6:08- Introducing Georgi Karakhanyan(27-7-1 145.0 pounds) vs Henry Corrales (14-3 145. pounds). I have Georgi winning this fight. He has more experience and is always 1 punch or 1 kick from ending his matches!

5:58-Hype video for Bellator on Paramount Network.

5:50- Announcing that the opening ceremonies will kick off at 6pm with Georgi Karakhanyan facing Henry Corrales to start the televised fights. Announcement of the Heavyweight Grand Prix and the fact that Spike TV has changed its name to Paramount Network.

Johnny Cisneros vs. Marlen Magee

5:44-Round 3- Cisneros starts with a few punches and a high kick but he looks worn out. Magee is in there and looking for a knockout as his only chance to win. Cisneros goes for the legs but is defended and eventually takes Magee to the fence and is laying on top of him and trying to tie up Magee’s feet as he mounds him. Magee just gave up his back and Cisneros just put him in a rear naked choke. Magee taps out with 2:32 remaining in the final round. It was a very one sided fight in my opinion.

5:42-Cisneros is still on top as the round comes to an end. Another round in favor of Cisneros in my opinion. 2-0 Cisneros.

5:38- Round 2 starts and Cisneros looks worn out but he is still aggressive. Magee takes down Cisneros in the corner and is trying to get a good position to mount him.

5:36- Cisneros lets Magee to get up and then takes him back down again as the round comes to an end. I have it 1-0 Cisneros.

5:32- Round 1- Slow start with shadow boxing but Cisneros takes down Magee in the middle of the ring. No punches, just a lot of hugging until the ref tells both fighters that he wants to see some actions. Ref stops and has both fighters get back on their feet. Cisneros is the bigger and more aggressive fighter. He takes Magee to the fence and sweeps the legs and takes him down. Now all of his weight is on Magee. Cisneros is trying to get Magee’s back but having trouble. Neither fighter are throwing and punches, just wrestling against the fence. Cisneros goes for the knee to the back of Magee’s leg and eventually takes him back down. He’s on the mount position and throwing punches.

5:30-Johnny Cisneros (10-6 170.4 pounds) vs Marlen Magee (4-4 167.9 pounds) have entered the ring.

Guillerme Bomba vs. Ivan Castillo fight

5:23- Round 1- Castillo starts it off with some kicks to Bomba’s left leg. Now we are getting some action in this fight as both guys are aggressive. 3:30 to go, Bomba goes for the take down and he has Castillo’s back while next to the fence. A few uppercuts and punches thrown but mostly hugging and going for the wrist control. 2:37 and Bombo takes him back down from the fence and is mounding him. He has Castillo’s left wrist behind his back and punching/elbowing the face of Castillo. Castillo is getting welts all over his head. He’s trying his best to fight back. 1:00 to go and Bomba is going for the side arm choke, using Castillo’s right arm to choke himself out. Castillo taps out with :58 remaining in the 1st round. What a good fight that got the crowd into it.

5:20- Start of the Guillerme Bomba(9-4 168.5 pounds) facing off against Ivan Castillo (14-8 169.8 pounds) with Frank Trigg as the ref.

Khonry Gracie vs. Devon Brock fight

5:16- We go to the judges for their decision. One judge has it 30-27, while two other judges had it 29-28. It was Devon Brock’s pro debut and he took out Khonry Gracie in his pro debut.

5:09- Round 3 -3rd and final round, both fighters touch gloves to start the round. Nothing going on for the first 2 minutes. Brock still the aggressor and Gracie is still back tracking in circles. Brock throwing some punches with 2:30 to go in the 3rd round. Gracie is going for the take down but he is getting hit with uppercuts by Brock. Gracie has a bloody nose thanks to the uppercuts by Brock. The crowd starts to chant “Khonry Khonry Khonry” to get some action going on. There is no offense shown by Gracie. :30 remaining and Gracie is still back tracking. Brock takes down Gracie as the final round comes to an end once again. I have it 3-0 Devon Brock.

5:04- Round 2- Brock has a cheering section right behind me in media row chanting “Devon Devon Devon.” Slow start by both fighters as there is still no action with 3:30 to go. Gracie is taking a few too many punches and doesn’t look like he’s comfortable standing up against Brock. Brock is trying to look at a way to get a good combo on Gracie but he’s holding back. He’s too afraid to have Gracie take him down and he doesn’t want to take Gracie down either. 1:00 left in the round and we had a few punches exchanged by both fighters that led to nothing. they are back in the middle of the cage dancing in circles. Brock takes Gracie down right before the end of the round. I have it 2-0 Devon Brock.

4:55- Khonry Gracie’s debut against Devon Brock. I have Gracie winning this match only because his father is Royce!
Round 1-A lot of shadow boxing and missed kicks/punches. Nobody wants to get hit first. Gracie is backing up and Brock is the aggressor. 2:15 in the 1st round and now they start to get some action. It’s 1:47 and Gracie goes for the take down but is defended perfectly by Brock. Brock is on top of him but not doing anything. Khonry feels at home on his back as he is going for a triangle choke but Devon is still in control. The 1st round ends with Devon Brock on top of Khonry Gracie.
