Football, Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow: Football is Not First or Second Most Important Thing in Life

November 11, 2011 by Steve DelVecchio • Comments

Oh my goodness! Did you hear that, Broncos fans?  You are not number one on Tim Tebow’s priority list!

When you are a rabid fan, you want to know your franchise’s key players are fully invested in the team.  You want to believe that the leaders spend all their time and effort watching film, working out, and preparing for the next victory.  Denver fans, however, will have to live with the fact that the Broncos are not No. 1 or No. 2 on Tebow’s priority list.

As Sports Radio Interviews shared with us, Tebow appeared on the Scott Van Pelt Show Friday morning and was asked how he feels about so many people doubting him.  His response is sure to knock the delusional fan’s socks right off.

“Well I am not sure,” Tebow said. “I know a lot of people support me as well and that means a lot to me. I can’t focus on the naysayers because they will always be there and they have always been there and I am just thankful that I don’t have to live the roller coaster life that everybody else watching me lives because I can stay grounded in my faith knowing that Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life and then family number two and then football comes after that. As long as the first two are good then football will take care of itself because at the end of the day it is a game. It’s a game that we are very passionate about. It’s a game that I love and I give my whole heart out there playing, but I don’t live and die with playing the game because I know it’s not the most important thing.”

Alright, I guess we can give him that.  I’m sure fans in the Mile High city want Tebow to be pissed when he gets Tebowed on or wish he would fire back at someone like Brandon Lloyd, but he’s a man who’s comfortable and at peace with his way of life.  It’s your emotional roller coaster, Broncos fans.  Tebow loves Jesus and his momma.
