So do his home/road splits, to an extent.

Although he did have a good year no matter how you slice it.

In about two years, maybe next year even, we'll be wondering who the 35-year old, $10 million guy sitting on the Angels bench is.

Cheapens the cycle he hit at Comerica Park last season... funny, Matt Stairs was 2 locker over and despite him homering, he turned his back on he media thronged around Matthew's locker.... literally 2-days later, Stairs was cut and the Tigers would pick up him up...

Stairs was a solid fit for Tigers in September... he'd have been a big help in the World Series but he came over after the deadline of 8/31 so he wasn't eligible for postseason play despite nearly winning the division for the Tigers with a late inning homer in Detroit's final game of the season against KC - an extra innings loss that gave the Twins the division...

I digress... Matthews doesn't surprise me and neither does Clemens at his age and with all the problems he's had in the past - if he peels over and dies in his 50's, nobody should be "shocked".
