Red Sox minor leaguer Lars Anderson breaks scoreboard with home run (Video)

The guy you see in the video above is a player who the Red Sox once envisioned as their slugger of the future. Lars Anderson is a power-hitting first base/outfield prospect who has frustrated scouts for years with his inconsistency. However, there is still hope for the 24-year-old as he showcased on Tuesday night with the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox.

Anderson demolished a fastball in the fourth inning and sent it crashing into the right-field video board about a quarter of the way up. The shot broke a panel that remained black for the rest of the game. He was the first player to ever hit the scoreboard during a game and officials say they do not believe the feat has ever been accomplished in batting practice, either. Clearly, the potential is still there.
