Video: Nyjer Morgan Flips Off Giants Fans [UPDATE]

Brewers center fielder Nyjer Morgan was flying all over the field to haul in deep balls against the Giants Friday night. After running down an Aubrey Huff ball to lead off the bottom of the seventh, he made a sweet grab on a ball hit by Nate Schierholtz. Leave it to Nyjer aka Tony Plush to show up the fans with a nice middle finger. Hey, at least it’s an improvement from the legendary fit he threw last season.

Believe it or not, he’s not the first baseball player to flip off fans during a game.

Forearm bash to Sports Grid for the video

UPDATE: Another angle shows he did not flip off the fans but rather he was flashing the sign for two outs. He still did it by crossing his arm at the elbow, which is another gesture to symbolize the same thing as the middle finger. Here’s a look at the other angle:

No middle finger, but his actions had the same offensive effect.

While crossing his arm at his elbow, the other sign for F-U. Same thing

Let’s see how well Brewers fans like him when he’s hitting .240

Your right. crossing your arms and screaming at the fans is the international sign for 2 outs. Not to mention it was a rather easy play if he wasn’t playing way out of position by being extremely shallow. You go Nyjer! Keep getting to be known for your hot head attitude rather than your mediocre play.

well he’s not, is he? He’s batting well over .300, he already has more home runs with the Brewers than he’s ever had with another team in a single season, he’s come through in several clutch situations at the plate, and he’s been great on defense (as was evident in the play leading up to this situation you’ve decided to whine about).

And what’s more, Morgan has NEVER hit .240 in a season… the lowest average he’s ever had was with the Nationals last year, and let’s face it – playing for the Nats is enough to suck the life out of anyone (see also, Jason Werth).

And even if he WAS hitting .240 (which, again, he’s nearly 90 points over that mark), I’d   STILL be entertained by him, because he brings character to the game, and I don’t get all upset when someone decides to be passionate and/or have a sense of humor.

flipping off opposing fans only gets you disciplined. smile and wave at the hecklers as you make a play, that works better

are you thick? Do you not know anything about defensive positioning? I’m sure you, who has probably never played a single inning of baseball, knows more about what you’re doing than Morgan, who makes a living off of this sport.

San Fran needs to chill they treat Mr. Tony Plush like crap while he is just having fun and making the game interesting. Also all the Giant fans talking about how “crazy” he is take a look at your closer. It’s getting old Brian…
