Basketball, Lazar Hayward

Timberwolves G Lazar Hayward says he can see spirits but can’t talk to them yet

Lazar-Hayward-TimberwolvesMinnesota Timberwolves guard Lazar Hayward says he has a very rare ability. We know that the former Marquette star has been blessed with a significant amount of talent, but this particular skill has nothing to do with basketball. Like the kid from the movie “The Sixth Sense,” Hayward says he is capable of seeing dead people.

The former first-round pick says he has been able to see “spirits” since he was a child, and he has recently begun working with two Los Angeles mediums who are helping him on his quest.

“I’ve always just had a lot of questions spiritually because I always kind of seen stuff when I was a kid and I used to tell friends and they’d look at me and say, ‘Lazar, you might need some help,'” Lazar recently told reporters while laughing, according the Star Tribune. “So they used to make fun of me. I just had a lot of questions because I’ve always just wondered.”

Hayward said a friend of his has used the help of a medium like the ones he has been working with to talk to his brother, who has been dead for six years. While Hayward has been fortunate enough to see spirits, he has yet to carry on a conversation with one of them.

“I’ve actually been able to see a spirit,” he explained. “I can’t talk to them yet, but I have seen them.”

The former Golden Eagle was drafted by Minnesota in 2010 before being traded to the Houston Rockets last season and waived in October. On Monday, the Wolves brought him back. Hayward said that “meditation and spiritual healing and living in an enlightened state” have helped him overcome obstacles during his young career.

“I think it helps me cope with some of the things that go on in basketball and just in life,” he said. “It really, really helps me a lot.”

Somebody try telling this guy ghosts aren’t real. I dare you.
