Midway through the third quarter of Friday’s game between the Clippers and Knicks, tempers flared after an altercation between Robin Lopez and Chris Paul that led to technical fouls and an ejection.
After fight for a loose ball, Lopez smacked Paul in the face with his left hand. Lopez then swiped at Paul again with his right hand. Kristaps Porzingis got involved as well. A minor scuffle ensued after DeAndre Jordan came in to defend his teammate.
Lopez picked up two technical fouls and was ejected. Paul Pierce and DeAndre Jordan also received one each for their roles in the scuffle.
Paul finished the game with 16 points, six rebounds, 13 assists, and one busted lip that needed to be tended to on the bench.
